Two panes when the window is compact, three when it is wide. The calendar never assumes portrait or landscape tells the whole story.
Inspector that stays out of the way
Open an event beside the calendar, edit it in the same pane, and return to the updated event card after Save.

Agenda, Day, Week, Month, Quarter and Year, plus events, reminders, invitations, search and Quick Add. Month can show two to six weeks or work days only, and Quarter runs as one continuous grid of thirteen weeks.
Accounts you add here, not in Settings
iCloud, Fastmail, Yahoo and Fruux connect inside InstaCal with their server address filled in and a link to where the provider issues an app password. Any other CalDAV server, and any webcal or .ics feed, goes in the same list.
