🗂 Calendars, Order, Sets and Focus

MaciPhoneiPad

Choose visible calendars, override colors, set event order, create Calendar Sets and connect them to Apple Focus.

Choose visible calendars

Open Settings → Calendars. Turn individual calendars on or off and star the default used by new events. Visibility changes what appears in normal views; it does not delete or unsubscribe from the calendar.

Assign a local color override when the provider’s color is hard to read or controlled by an administrator. The change belongs to InstaCal and does not alter the provider.

Set calendar order

Open the Order control and drag calendars into the sequence that matters to you. Events that begin together follow this order across the agenda, month grid, all-day and multi-day bars and widgets.

Create a Calendar Set

Open Settings → Calendar Sets, add a set, name it and select calendars across Apple, Google and Microsoft accounts. Common sets are Work, Personal and Family.

Switch sets from the panel footer or calendar controls. The change updates the whole visible schedule in one action.

Use a set in the menu bar

Under Settings → Menu Bar → Next Event, choose a Calendar Set to limit what can occupy the menu bar’s next-item area without changing the rest of the app.

Connect a set to Focus

Enable the set for Focus Filters in InstaCal. Then open the system Settings → Focus, select a Focus, add an InstaCal filter and choose the set. While the Focus is active, InstaCal shows that calendar scope and restores the prior selection when it ends.
