⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts

Mac

Open InstaCal from any app, navigate the panel and assign shortcuts to menu commands and calendar views.

Global shortcuts

Open Settings → Shortcuts → Global Shortcuts to record keys that work from any app. Separate shortcuts can open the panel, start a new event or jump to reminders.

When the panel closes, InstaCal returns focus to the app that was active before it opened.

Panel navigation

Arrow keys move the selected day or month when focus is not inside a text editor. Command-Up Arrow and Command-Down Arrow move the agenda. Press Escape to close the panel.

The Shortcuts pane can change what the panel arrow keys do if you prefer a different navigation scheme.

Reassign menu commands

Under Settings → Shortcuts → Menu Commands and Calendar Views, choose a command and record the shortcut you want. InstaCal checks for conflicts and keeps commands available in the menu so their current keys are always discoverable.

Tip: A fast loop is: global shortcut, type the event, Return, Escape. The event is created and focus is back in your previous app.
